Where orders are sent from

Physical books are dispatched from the United Kingdom.

Shipping cost and service

The cart calculates the parcel and shows the shipping service and cost available for the delivery destination before payment. Shipping is added separately to the merchandise subtotal so you can see the full amount due before you pay.

Please make sure the delivery address is complete and correct. If you notice an error after ordering, contact us as quickly as possible. Once an order has been dispatched, an address change may no longer be possible.

Delivery times

Delivery time depends on the destination and the service selected. Where a delivery estimate is provided, it is an estimate unless we expressly agree a guaranteed delivery date.

If no different delivery period has been agreed, goods will be delivered within the period required by applicable UK consumer law.

International orders

International services depend on the destination, parcel size and the services available to that country.

Changing your mind

For most books bought online, you can cancel without giving a reason by telling us within 14 days after you receive the goods. After telling us that you are cancelling, you then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

You may inspect the books as you reasonably would in a shop. If they are handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature and condition and their value is reduced, the refund may be reduced to reflect that loss in value where the law allows.

How to cancel

Contact us with your name, order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You can use the Contact page.

You may also use the model cancellation wording at the bottom of this page, although you do not have to use that exact form.

Returning a change-of-mind order

Unless we agree otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods when you cancel because you have changed your mind. We recommend using a service that gives you appropriate proof of posting.

Refunds after cancellation

Where the statutory cancellation right applies, we will make the refund within the time required by law. We may wait until the returned goods are received, or until you provide evidence that they have been sent back, where the law allows.

The refund includes the price paid for the returned goods and the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option we offered for that order. If you chose a more expensive delivery service, the additional premium is not normally refundable as part of a change-of-mind cancellation.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect books

If a book arrives damaged, is faulty, is not as described, or we sent the wrong item, please contact us. Your statutory rights are separate from the change-of-mind cancellation right above and are not affected by this policy.
